Free Demo Session Guidelines ** Location: Irene, Pretoria

At Take a Listen?, we believe portable audio is best experienced properly — in a calm environment with enough time to listen, compare, ask questions, and explore at your own pace.

Demo sessions take place in a dedicated listening studio designed specifically for focused and comfortable audio demonstrations. The goal is to offer a relaxed, hands-on experience that is increasingly rare both locally and internationally.

1. Demo Sessions

Standard demo sessions are approximately 30 minutes per booking and may be extended at our discretion depending on availability.

To preserve a relaxed and focused listening environment, demo sessions are currently limited to a maximum of 3 participants per booking.

Due to limited availability and the personalised nature of the sessions, repeat bookings may be limited.

To help create a focused experience, customers may be asked beforehand which models or sound preferences they are most interested in.

Sessions are generally focused around a curated selection of approximately 3–5 products rather than an entire inventory catalogue.

2. Respect for Equipment & Environment

Portable audio equipment is delicate specialist equipment and should be treated with appropriate care and respect.

To help preserve the listening environment and shared equipment:
• no food or drinks are permitted while handling equipment,
• reckless or careless handling of equipment will not be tolerated,
• shared demo equipment is cleaned and sanitised regularly where practical.

Customers may be held responsible for damage caused through negligence or misuse.

3. Intoxication & Safety

To maintain a safe and comfortable environment for everyone, intoxicated individuals or persons under the influence of drugs or alcohol may be refused entry or asked to leave.

No alcohol or recreational drug use is permitted on the premises.

4. Cancellations & Rescheduling

Demo sessions may generally be rescheduled once with reasonable notice. Repeated cancellations or rescheduling may result in future bookings being declined.

5. Equipment Does Not Leave the Premises

Demo equipment, including In-ear Headphones, headphones, DACs, amplifiers, cables, and accessories, may not leave the premises under any circumstances.

6. Mutual Respect

We will always strive to provide a welcoming, relaxed, and educational experience while sharing our knowledge honestly and patiently.

In return, we ask for reasonable respect for:
• time,
• equipment,
• the listening environment,
• and other participants.

These guidelines help preserve a rare opportunity to experience specialist portable audio equipment in a focused and hands-on setting.
